What is Ergonomics?
Ergonomics, also known as human factors, is the scientific discipline that seeks to understand and improve human interactions with products, equipment, environments and systems. Drawing upon human biology, psychology, engineering and design, ergonomics aims to develop and apply knowledge and techniques to optimise system performance, whilst protecting the health, safety and well-being of individuals involved.
Why Ergonomics is Important?
Good home and office ergonomics is very important because we are turning into a society that spends more and more hours working and playing at the computer. Sitting at poorly designed workstations can contribute to problems such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and repetitive stress injuries (RSI). Bad ergonomics can also cause back and neck pain, frequent headaches, and other related health issues.
Monitor Arms and Ergonomics
Monitor arms allow you to move your monitor to the correct focal length & position in relation to how you work. To prevent neck and back injury, your computer monitor should be directly in front of you with the top of the screen being at eye level, and you may want to easily move it away to free up your desk to do other tasks.
Reasons Why You Might Need a Monitor Arm
